Flexible Electric Grids I
As part of the BMBF research cluster Flexible Electrical Networks (FEN), the Institute for Urban and Regional Planning investigates the impact of innovative electrical network structures bas on dc technology on urban structures and systems.
In close cooperation with the University's electrical engineering experts, the effects of a changed network infrastructure on urban structures and development are to be described and evaluated, focusing in an exemplary fashion on a city district.
The aim is to develop the building blocks for an integrated district development under consideration of the necessary transformation of the electric grid for the use of renewable energy in an urban context. In a second step, it is to be investigated and documented whether the results can be transferred to other districts as well as rural areas.
