Schlaun Competition

Since the winter semester 2011/2012, the Schlaun-Forum e.V. has been annually offering Schlaun competitions as idea competitions in North Rhine-Westphalia. With this initiative the Schlaun-Forum intends to promote the infrastructure in NRW and to counter the threat of an increasing inhospitability of our living space.

The Johannes Göderitz Foundation, named after him, is able to award annual prizes for the promotion of student and scientific work in the field of architecture and urban planning due to its assets.

Light up! Adding more wood - Open competition 2020

For the third time, proHolz is organising an interdisciplinary, international, open student competition on the subject of building with wood. In the 2020 edition, 3 selected residential buildings in Vienna from the 1960s will be used to sound out the potential for compaction with wood. The Student Trophy 2020 will be offered by proHolz Austria.

Heerlen Rooftop Project

The city centre of Heerlen is characterized by a dense and diverse urban rooftop landscape. Large grey and sterile roof surfaces dominate the view from the top floors of the SCHUNCK Glaspaleis. SCHUNCK and Heerlen aim to explore this unused surface potential for gardening, arts, farming, cultural festivals, music, cinema, coffee houses, sports, tiny housing and much more.
