Programm und Anmeldung
The European Masters programme TRANSFORMING CITY REGIONS is structured in 4 semesters, with the last semester being dedicated to the Master thesis. During the first 3 semesters, half of the ECTS CP are available through integrated projects dealing with the complex urban problem which ranges from a smaller to a greater scale, and the remaining ECTS CP are available through core courses, optional courses, research modules, field trips/impromptu courses and transit courses.
The curriculum of the TCR programme is structured in the following way:
- 8 modules of the core courses,
- 3 modules of the integrated projects,
- 1 research module,
- 1 module of elective courses which consists of compulsory field trip and two elective impromptu courses,
- 1 module of the optional courses,
- 1 transit module,
- 1 module of the Master thesis.
Core courses can be structured in a condensed manner or with a duration of one or two semesters.

Admission Requirements

1st university degree, required qualifications according to the examination regulations (PO). Proficiency in English according to PO RWTH's Comprehensive Examination Regulation Admission requirements: Portfolio The portfolio complements the module description and should demonstrate your experience in spatial-related fields. The format is free, but you are encouraged to be creative in how you present and communicate the content. It may also include a CV and a personal statement of motivation. The only restriction is that it should not exceed 20 pages. The portfolio must be submitted via the RWTH Online portal in the space provided (TCR Portfolio) and must not exceed 5 MB in size. Please note that no documents will be accepted by e-mail and that it is not necessary to send a hard copy by post.

Examination Regulations
Regulations that apply for all Bachelor and Master courses of study as well as detailed information about the necessary documentation of required language skills can be found in RWTH's Comprehensive Examination Regulation. Examination regulations are only published in German as they are legally binding.
Subject Specific Exam Regulations regulate academic goals, the course of study layout, and exam procedures.
