Redesign of squares and places to stay at Aachener Grabenring

The Chair of Urban Design will deal with the scenario of a city centre with few cars up to the Aachener Alleenring, which offers the chance of a newly designed ring road: not only as a newly conceived traffic zone in the form of a shared space for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport, but also as a striking address with a higher quality of design and stay. Building on the results of last year's redesign of the entire Grabenring, this year's redesign will focus on the distinctive squares and places to stay on the Ring.

The Chair of Urban Design offers the forum as a compact seminar format with online dates until the end of May, in which the designs for the places and places to stay at the Grabenring are developed in groups of three to four people. The group division will be done by RWTH-Moodle. If possible, the design will be presented on classical plans and a model on 25.05.2020; otherwise it will also be done digitally.
