The lecture provides basic knowledge of the legal framework conditions of planning and construction and gives an overview of salient formal methods, norms and reference values. It seeks to raise awareness for relevant legal and economic aspects of building and construction and describes and illustrates the possible roles of architects and urban planners.

  • Fire protection in buildings
  • Procedural legislation
  • Basics of planning law
  • Content, processes and effectiveness of land use plans (zoning plans, development plans)
  • Instruments of the Federal Building Code
  • Application and approval cases

Introduction to Private Building Law

  • Introduction to law, with a focus on building law
  • On property
  • Contracting and procurement
  • Planning services by architects
  • HOAI (scale of services and fees for architects and engineers)
