Summer in the City: Strategies against Heat

Summer is here, it is getting very warm again these days. Which is not only positive: Because climate change, dense building development and extensive soil sealing are making our cities chronically hotter - they are becoming heat islands. Building materials such as stone, concrete and asphalt heat up quickly during the day and release the stored heat at night.
