DERIVE in Euskirchen

It's that time of year again: we are putting the results of our teaching on the process of structural change in the Rhenish Mining District on display! In 2021, on the occasion of the Venice Biennale, we have already occupied the premises of the Palazzo Bembo with the exhibition contribution "derive - Wandering through the Rhenish Mining District!

The district administration of Euskirchen is bringing the exhibition back to the district for you: from August 8, 2022 to August 31, 2022, the atlas of identified immaterial cultural forms of the Rhenish Mining District will be on display in the FOYER of the district hall in Euskirchen. We invite you on an exciting illustrative journey through the area of the Mining District: And which cultural form seems not to have fallen into the pit? Find out!

We invite you to the vernissage at 5 pm on 9 August 2022. The works of the 24 students were created in the research module series "derive!" in the winter semester 2019/20 under the direction of  Marie Enders. The research module series attempts to capture the mentality and intangible cultural assets of regions in various stages of structural change processes and to map and illustrate the granularities of identities in two-scale urbanism.
