Precinct node "Space" launches digital dialog
Go-ahead: New series of events aims to involve stakeholders and the public in the spatial strategy process
Space. Associations with the term range from the vastness of a landscape to what is livable and lovable about an individual's surroundings to the four walls where people find home. So what does a precinct node do for which "space" acts as a guiding concept? And what does this specialist group of the Future Agency deal with a few weeks before the regular program starts? Questions like these will be answered at the kick-off event of the new digital series "Revier_Talk_Raum."
Alexandra Landsberg, head of the Rhenish Revier Structural Change Unit in North Rhine-Westphalia's Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy, will fire the starting gun in person: she will open the event on Monday, March 29, 6 p.m., via Zoom. "I'm extremely excited to be there when the Precinct Node 'Space' demonstrates even more closeness and transparency by offering insights into its important work," she says: "What's more, this is just the foretaste of a series that, with the help of invited experts, will look at the challenges posed by the task of developing an attractive and livable region from changing perspectives."
The staff of the "Space" precinct node, led by Professor Christa Reicher, will design the continuation of the inaugural event, which is scheduled to last two hours. "With this talk series, we hope to reach professional audiences, but also all citizens who are curious about our topics. The format is ideally suited, even in times when the premise of social distancing applies, to bring focal points into conversation and to exchange ideas and impulses about them," she explains. In addition to Claudia Schwan-Schmitz, technical councillor, who will provide an insight into the planning concepts of the district town of Bergheim, district administrator Frank Rock will also contribute his expectations of the spatial process. Of course, questions and suggestions from the audience are expressly welcome.
